Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
Red Rising was one of those books that I just could not put down. It was a dark, exciting and very fast paced dystopian novel. So, this next one is on my must read list, and I can’t wait to read it!
Golden Son by Pierce Brown
Expected Publication: January 13th 2015 by Del Rey
With shades of The Hunger Games, Ender’s Game, and Game of Thrones, debut author Pierce Brown’s genre-defying epic Red Rising hit the ground running and wasted no time becoming a sensation. Golden Son continues the stunning saga of Darrow, a rebel forged by tragedy, battling to lead his oppressed people to freedom from the overlords of a brutal elitist future built on lies. Now fully embedded among the Gold ruling class, Darrow continues his work to bring down Society from within. A life-or-death tale of vengeance with an unforgettable hero at its heart, Golden Son guarantees Pierce Brown’s continuing status as one of fiction’s most exciting new voices.
I like the cover theme the books have going. I would say I plan on waiting for the reviews before deciding on this one but the reviews for Red Rising were all gushing and that didn’t match my thoughts at all. So I guess if the book falls in my lap, I will read it.

Ha! Well, nothing is for everyone, but if one lands your way I can only hope you enjoy it more than the first one. And that those of us who did gush about the first still enjoy it as well. 🙂

OMG YES, I’ll be jumping on this one like a starved rat on a half-eaten twinkie. I’m one of those in the “I adored the first book” camp!

A ton of people loved Red Rising but it came out during my YA dystopian burnout phase and I never picked it up. I’m thinking now that I’ll need to give ‘er a try before this beauty comes out! Plus, the all-important cover art continuity is an added bonus.
