Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
I adore Fitz and Fool and am so looking forward to catching back up with them in Fool’s Quest after the ending in Fool’s Assassin. These are two of my favorite characters in the history of books, so yes! I am waiting on this one (quite eagerly)!
Author:Robin Hobb
Expected publication: August 11th, 2015
Publisher: Del Rey
Acclaimed and bestselling author Robin Hobb continues her Fitz and the Fool trilogy with this second entry, following Fool’s Assassin, ramping up the tension and the intrigue as disaster continues to strike at Fitz’s life and heart.
After nearly killing his oldest friend, the Fool, and finding his daughter stolen away by those who were once targeting the Fool, FitzChivarly Farseer is out for blood. And who better to wreak havoc than a highly trained and deadly former royal assassin? Fitz might have let his skills go fallow over his years of peace, but such things, once learned, are not so easily forgotten. And nothing is more dangerous than a man who has nothing left to lose…
I was deeply disappointed with Fool’s Assassin, but I’m really hoping that Hobb will find her voice again for this. Fitz and Fool are such great characters, I really want to enjoy one more adventure with them.

It was different, but I actually still really enjoyed it. I suspect with how things ended that the next one will be more typical form. 🙂

I’ve read lots of good reviews of this series, I really should try to read Robin Hobb at some point! And when you say your favorite characters EVER, you’ve convinced me:-)

You should! They may not be my absolute favorite characters in the history of books but they may be my favorite non-GRRM characters. Or at least close! It’s like picking a favorite kid! You just can’t do it! 🙂

Well you may have been a bit busy creating and sustaining a tiny new life! And Hobb’s books can be emotional so may not have been the right timing anyway 🙂 it’ll be there when you’re ready for it. The beauty of books, they don’t change or fade away 🙂

This is probably one of the few BIG fantasy releases this year I’m not actually waiting for, because I haven’t even finish the Farseer trilogy! I know it’s best to do that one first, THEN the Fool trilogy before tackling Fool’s Assassin and Fool’s Quest. Yeah, I think it’ll be a long long time until I get to this one 😛

Yep. Definitely need to do that. And I would actually recommend reading Liveship Traders between the Fitz and Tawny Man trilogies. I think you’ll love it and it’s better to read in order (just to add 3 more books to your list!)

I really need to read some Hobb. I keep saying that. I just need to do it!
You do! And it would be perfect for a Backlist Burndown read! 🙂
