Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature gives a weekly Top Ten list. We all love lists, right?
This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015
Here’s my top 10, but in no particular order, but separated by genre (just note, some of these books fit under more than one genre). I have to admit, I am quite surprised that the majority of my selections are Science Fiction. I also decided to only include 2015 releases, just as another way to make it easier to pick! 🙂
FANTASY
Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
The Just City/The Philosopher Kings by Jo Walton
Grace of Kings by Ken Liu
SCIENCE FICTION
Flex by Ferrett Steinmetz
The Rebirths of Tao by Wesley Chu
The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi
The Mechanical by Ian Tegillis
Touch by Claire North
HORROR
Day Four by Sarah Lotz
When We Were Animals by Joshua Gaylord
Good idea to include only 2015 releases (since it narrows it down). But since I’ve read very few 2015 released books this year, that means that I haven’t read a single one of your picks…well, not yet! Ink and Bone is on my list and so is The Just City so I’m glad that they were such standouts for you! 🙂

Anything to make decisions easier! And most of what I’ve read this year was 2015 release, so still had plenty to choose from 🙂 You definitely need to check out Ink and Bone (and The Just City).

I haven’t read any of these, dang it, though a lot are on my TBR. I particularly want to pick up the Jo Walton books and The Grace of Kings. Ink and Bone also looks pretty great. I’m super impressed by how well you keep up with new releases!

I was really taken by surprise with Ink and Bone. The author’s other series have had little appeal for me for some reason, so I almost looked this one over. So glad I didn’t! It actually makes me wonder about her other books now.

Ah, so many great books. None that I have read, but all that are on my TBR.

They are all worth reading! (so says me) 😀

I’ll have to make one of these lists next month! I know a few on here are probably going to make it onto mine as well (Grace of Kings, Day Four…) 🙂

I LOVE Day Four. I really, really do. And I still have no desire to set foot on a cruise ship 🙂

When We Were Animals was great! That would have made my list for sure! And I have a copy of The Water Knife and am looking forward to reading it. I didn’t fully realize it was Science Fiction.

It’s Science Fiction in that it is a dystopian novel. There’s some mild sci-fi elements, but really more dystopian/thriller.

Ohh, will have to check out Ink and Bone – I may have read your review but I don’t think I’ve added it to my wishlist so I probably should (as we do seem to share a lot of the same likes in books).
Lynn 😀

I’ve heard amazing things about Ink and Bone and Touch, so I’d really like to catch up on those before the year is out. 🙂 As for my picks… I’d say my favorite new read of 2015 is The Distance Between Lost and Found by Kathryn Holmes (YA contemporary about a teenager lost in the Smoky Mountains), and my favorite previously published read is Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.
