Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish. This feature gives a weekly Top Ten list. We all love lists, right?
This week’s theme is Top Ten Of Your Auto-buy Authors
This is HARD! I can easily think of ten, but narrowing down to 10 is where it gets tricky. I originally thought to only include authors where I have read 3 books, because if I’ve read 3 books I love by them, they are pretty solidly on this list. Problem is, there are so many authors where I’ve only read 2 books, but still want to include and many of these authors are firmer on my “must read list” than authors I’ve read more books by. So, I went down my list, included my entries where I read 3 or more books (because honestly, the more I read, sometimes the harder it is to remain on that list). Then I had authors with just two book, and there were probably maybe 6 I wanted to include. From that set of 2 books read, I ruled out any authors that have more books published, and I just haven’t read them yet (no matter how much I’ve enjoyed them … so there goes GGK and a couple of others.) Out of those left, I couldn’t pick just two. I just couldn’t. I did pick one, and left my 10th position open for all the rest. 🙂
So, here’s my picks, in order of how many books I’ve read by them:
- Robin Hobb
-
Joe Hill
- Joe Abercrombie
- George R. R. Martin
- Wesley Chu
- Scott Lynch
- Lauren Beukes
- Patrick Rothfuss
- Sarah Lotz
- (everyone else I want to read more of!)
Awesome list! I should have mentioned Joe Hill, and I almost put Lauren Beukes on. It was hard for me too, I have way more than ten! Ugg Robin Hobb! I NEED to read something from her soon!

Yep, so hard to narrow it down, thats why I came up with some made up methods to help me out.

Haha, yeah there’s no way I would be able to do a list like this. You want me to limit it to 10 authors only, are you kidding me? 😀

I know, right? I did OK for a bit, then I realized I was running out of spots!

I have the Farseer trilogy as the next series on my TBR! Well, it’s actually a toss up between that or Mistborn, so we’ll see. But I’ve never read Hobb before, so right now, I’m giving her the slight advantage.

I’d go with Farseer 🙂 but I am a bit biased.

I’m definitely not surprised to see Robin Hobb and Joe Hill on here! Your love for them is well documented. 🙂 I’ve never even heard of Sarah Lotz, I’ll have to check her out online!

She wrote The Three and Day Four. (Day Four was the book that reaffirmed my suspicions that cruises are evil things best avoided 🙂 )
