Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature all about sharing your good luck in book acquisitions! So here’s what came my way since my last post!

It’s been another couple of great weeks for book additions!

Received for Review

I received two surprise books from Saga Press. Borderline by Mishell Baker in particular is one that I’ve been eying, especially as I know Tammy from Books, Bones and Buffy loved it. I also loved Grace of Kings, so The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories by Ken Liu definitely interests me as well. Many thanks to Saga Press for sending these my way!

The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp – This is one I just learned about recently, and was really excited to get an eARC. I actually started it right away, and it is fun and creepy. Many thanks to Orbit for the review copy!

Spells of Blood and Kin by Claire Humphrey – I have to confess, this was an impulse request on NetGalley. I know others have talked about it. It says “dark fantasy” on the cover, and generally does sound like it has really good potential. I look forward to finding out! My thanks to Thomas Dunne Books for approving my request!

Infomocracy by Malka Older – Computers and politics? OK, I am pretty much sold. Look forward to checking out this latest arrival. Lots of thanks to Tor.com!

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Dark Matter by Blake Crouch from Crown Publishing through the LibraryThing Early Reviewers giveaway! This book sounds really good! Is the character in a different world? Same world? Pretty much, WTF is going on?? And, you can’t tell from the picture, but it refuses to be ignored because it is NEON!

I was lucky again, and won a copy of The Hatching by Ezekiel Boone through a Twitter giveaway. It has large carnivorous spiders!! Sound like fun? It came complete with a map on the reverse side of the press release, detailing the strange and bad occurrences across the world within the past week. Many thanks to Atria Books!

Purchases

TheWinterKingAudiobook

The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell (audiobook)- This book will serve as my March Backlist Burndown book (I have been wanting to read something by Bernard Cornwell for a while). And it will also serve to fill in my very last square (Arthurian Fantasy) for the r/Fantasy Bingo challenge that ends 3/31!

  1. Curious about Dark Matter. I read the Wayward Pines books last summer in just a few days. I haven’t ready any Cornwell, but have been meaning to.
