After reading Masks and Shadows, I knew Burgis’ next book would be on my to read list. It was a wonderful balance of etiquette, intrigue and politics, and this sounds like it will deliver all of those as well. Really looking forward to it!

I just saw this on Goodreads and about halfway through reading the description I said, out loud no less, “GET IN MY FACE NOW OMG.” (Clearly I also need to burrow my way through my to-read pile until I get to Masks and Shadows, because I know it’s on there and possibly I need to read it much sooner.)

I won the first one in a giveaway but never read it. I keep meaning to and now that the second one is coming out, maybe it will be the inspiration I need. Great choice this week!

The cover isn’t something that attracts, but I’m really liking the sounds of the plot! For some reason, “dark alchemy” is really catching my eye.
