Friday Firsts is a new meme that will run every Friday here on Tenacious Reader. It will feature the first few sentences/paragraph of my current book and my first impressions as well. It’s meant to be a quick and easy way to share a bit about what I am reading, and I would love to hear others join in sharing their current reads as well.
“An admiral? Is this a joke?” one of the voices said.
“It’s the seal. Look at this. I think someone’s done something to it.”
“Is he alive?”
“This isn’t even our ship.”
“He’s breathing. I have him.”
I was distracted from the pain racking my body by a pair of soft lips on mine, and a rush of welcome, secondhand oxygen. The kindness didn’t last. A powerful fist smashed into my sternum.
Danker, Sean. Admiral. Penguin Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
My First Impressions
I was immediately curious about this one. Who is this guy? Where is this group? Why are they not on their ship? Lots of questions to motivate me to keep reading. The pace is good and so far it is entertaining.
What are you reading right now? Did it start out strong? Feel free to share in the comments, and also feel free to link up!
I enjoyed this one, and I probably appreciate it even more now than back when I read it, judging by the excitement I felt when I saw the cover to the sequel recently.

I’ve already heard about this one, and I mean to add it to my TBR pile soon: with what I know of the story, the beginning is quite intriguing indeed!
