It’s been another couple of great weeks for book additions! I am still always surprised and excited when a publisher decides to send me a book, those mystery book packages are always a real highlight in my day/week/month. And I had a number of mystery packages this time as I’ve cut back on the number of books I’m requesting right now as I get back in the groove of reading and reviewing. (I had a bit of a slump as my routine went out the window for a while, and I’ve been finding my way back into a new routine, I’m getting there, and excited about all these books I have to choose from now).
Pride and Prometheus by John Kessel – I am not sure I would have picked this one up on my own, but I have heard wonderful things about it and was excited to see it show up. Many thanks to Saga Press and Wunderkind!
Blood of the Four by Christopher Golden and Tim Lebbon – I am looking forward to reading this one. I’ve enjoyed some of Golden’s horror books, and have heard good things about Lebbon. I’m curious to see how their collaboration on this epic fantasy pans out. My thanks to Harper Voyager for sending this my way.
The Song of All by Tina LeCount Myers – This one wasn’t on my radar, but I love the cover and it sounds really good. I’m hoping to get a chance to check it out. Many thanks to Night Shade Books
The Coincidence Makers by Yoav Blum – This one sounds kinda fascinating. I hadn’t heard of it prior to getting it in the mail, but I am really looking forward to reading it. My thanks to St. Martin’s Press
Alter Ego by Brian Freeman – This one sounds like an intriguing thriller, but I also noticed it is listed as a book 9. It seems like it might be the type of series where books can work as standalones, but I need to verify before trying this. Many thanks to Quercus!
Lady Henterman’s Wardrobe by Marshall Ryan Maresca – I’ve been enjoying all of Maresca’s books, but Holver Alley Crew, with its thieves and heists, is probably my favorite. This book is the sequel to HAC and is the only book this round that I actually requested so I was really excited to get a copy of it. Honestly, I have already finished reading it. It’s fun just like the first one! My review will be posting soon. My thanks to DAW Books!
The Court of Broken Knives by Anna Smith Spark -There are so many great sounding books that get released, its hard to keep up with all of them. And every one in a while there’s a book that you just wished you had planned to read but just hadn’t. The Court of Broken Knives is one of those books for me. So when Anna Smith Spark reached out to me and asked if I might be interest, I jumped at the opportunity. And not it’s also the Reddit Fantasy book of the month, so I’m hoping to catch up and join the discussions. Many thanks to Anna Smith Spark for offering and sending me a copy of the UK edition, and for signing it. I was SOO excited to get this in the mail!!
The Defiant Heir by Melissa Caruso – I loved the first in this series (The Tethered Mage), so I am really looking forward to reading this sequel. Many thanks to Orbit!
Lake Silence by Anne Bishop – I am a bit behind on The Others series, but have enjoyed it. Since this is a new series, it sounds like I can safely pick up here. Many thanks Penguin Random House Audio for the audiobook for review.

I hope you enjoy them! I didn’t know there was a new Others series. I’m embarrassed that I still haven’t read The Others. I know it’s a series I would really enjoy.

The Coincidence Makers and Alter Ego weren’t on my radar, but sounds like I have to look into them! Alter Ego looks especially tempting, I have been looking into adding thrillers to my reviewing lately.

Looks like there’s lots of great stuff in there! I might have to pick up some Maresca, the description of those books sound really fun. I’m also very curious about Pride and Prometheus.

It’s been great to see that Melissa Caruso’s next book is on its way: I enjoyed the Tethered Mage quite a bit, too, and I’m eager to see where the story will go next 🙂
