Waiting on Wednesday is a meme that was hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon. It has gone the way of the wind and no longer hosted there. But Wishful Endings is now hosting Can’t Wait Wednesday so we can keep the momentum going and link up there.
Bird Box got rave reviews, but I just never found the time to read it. This new book by Malerman sounds really exciting, so I am really looking forward to finally reading one of his books!

Carol Evers is a woman with a dark secret. She has died many times . . . but her many deaths are not final: They are comas, a waking slumber indistinguishable from death, each lasting days.
Only two people know of Carol’s eerie condition. One is her husband, Dwight, who married Carol for her fortune, and—when she lapses into another coma—plots to seize it by proclaiming her dead and quickly burying her . . . alive. The other is her lost love, the infamous outlaw James Moxie. When word of Carol’s dreadful fate reaches him, Moxie rides the Trail again to save his beloved from an early, unnatural grave.
And all the while, awake and aware, Carol fights to free herself from the crippling darkness that binds her—summoning her own fierce will to survive. As the players in this drama of life and death fight to decide her fate, Carol must in the end battle to save herself.
I can’t wait as well! I also haven’t found time to read Bird Box but I just reading a gushing review on someone’s blog, so I have high hopes for Malerman?

As fascinating as the premise sounds, the idea of following the character’s harrowing experience in her grave gives me the creeps… But I’ll wait for your review to decide 🙂

I missed out on Bird Box too, so hopefully I’ll have time to pick this one up when it comes out. I’m loving the romance angle here, and Carol’s condition sounds so creepy — but in a good way!
