Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
What?? WHAT??? A new book from Leckie? And, it’s FANTASY?? I am seriously so excited for this. There’s not much in the description, but it’s more than enough for me. So excited for this, even if it’s not releasing until next year.

Listen.
A god is speaking.
My voice echoes through the stone of your master’s castle.
This castle where he finds his uncle on his father’s throne.
You want to help him.
You cannot.
You are the only one who can hear me.
You will change the world.
Wow, this sounds interesting! It is a long wait but it sounds like will be well wroth the wait to find out what is happening in this castle.
Definitely!

Whoa cool! This sounds so good. I’m curious to see what she does with fantasy!

Me too!! Especially since fantasy tends to be more “my thing” than SF and I love her SF

I love the cover and the premise sounds good. I never read her other books but I might give this one a try!

Yeah, no book is for everyone, and while I love Leckie’s books, she can be a bit hit or miss for readers.

Gotta wait a long while for this one! Sounds awesome though!
Yep, though I suspect it will be worth the wait!

What a lovely cover… I hope you enjoy this one. I’ve just got hold of All Systems Red, btw – I’ll be interested to see what you make of it:)
All Systems Red was fun 🙂 Look forward to hearing what you think of it

It sounds super mysterious. I love fantasy, so I’ll have to check it out.

Her SF is really good, so I have high expectations for this

Ooh killer cover. I might want it just for that! And I’m intrigued by the blurb for sure.

the blurb is so short, but definitely effective!

That was my first thought too, when I saw this in the Orbit newsletter. Leckie and fantasy? Her sci-fi has never really blown me away, but maybe this might work.

My own encounter with Ann Leckie’s work have not been exactly stellar, but this sounds so interesting that I’m willing to give this author another chance to woo me… Thank you so much for sharing!

yeah, she is definitely a hit or miss author. I am curious to see if her fantasy is as divisive

Well, I could very well be tempted by this. This is an author that I’ve not really loved for some reason so this could be the one.
Lynn 😀
Hope if you give it a chance that it does work better. I think much of the gender ambiguity and then AI hive mind stuff made it harder to connect with her SF.
