Waiting on Wednesday is a meme that was hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon. It has gone the way of the wind and is no longer hosted there. But Wishful Endings is now hosting Can’t Wait Wednesday so we can keep the momentum going and link up there.
This one sounds like it checks a number of fun boxes… thieves, orphans, magic, curses… and armageddon? Sound like a great mix!

A group of three young thieves are pulled into a centuries old magical war between ancient beings, mages, and humanity in this wildly original debut epic fantasy.
The city has always been. The city must finally end.
When three thieves – an orphan, a ghoul, and a cursed man – are betrayed by the master of the thieves guild, their quest for revenge uncovers dark truths about their city and exposes a dangerous conspiracy, the seeds of which were sown long before they were born.Cari is a drifter whose past and future are darker than she can know.
Rat is a Ghoul, whose people haunt the city’s underworld.
Spar is a Stone Man, subject to a terrible disease that is slowly petrifying his flesh.
Chance has brought them together, but their friendship could be all that stands in the way of total armageddon

Wow this sounds (and looks- that cover!!) pretty good! I love a good, gritty fantasy city, with thieves guilds’ and all that! And unlikely allies. 🙂 I’m definitely going to have to give this one a hard look!

I keep seeing things about this one around the net, it looks kind of interesting. I think I’m still unsure if it’s a ‘me’ book, but I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

I get that, reviews might help you decide once there’s more (the ones I’ve seen so far have been very positive, but it can be a great book but also not a fit for what you prefer

I have a copy of this one too and can’t wait to dig in.
Lynn 😀
I think I am likely to start it as soon as I finish Foundryside. I try to not read books in the same genre at the same time (unless they are very very different)
