Waiting on Wednesday is a meme that was hosted byΒ Breaking the SpineΒ to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon. It has gone the way of the wind and is no longer hosted there. ButΒ Wishful EndingsΒ is now hostingΒ Canβt Wait WednesdayΒ so we can keep the momentum going and link up there.
I’ve not read either of the author’s for this one, but they are both ones that have caught my attention in the past. This blend of romance and sci fi has me quite interested, and I’m curious to see how it works out.

Two time-traveling agents from warring futures, working their way through the past, begin to exchange lettersβand fall in love in this thrilling and romantic book from award-winning authors Amal-El Mohtar and Max Gladstone.
Among the ashes of a dying world, an agent of the Commandant finds a letter. It reads: Burn before reading.
Thus begins an unlikely correspondence between two rival agents hellbent on securing the best possible future for their warring factions. Now, what began as a taunt, a battlefield boast, grows into something more. Something epic. Something romantic. Something that could change the past and the future.
Except the discovery of their bond would mean death for each of them. Thereβs still a war going on, after all. And someone has to win that war. Thatβs how war works. Right?
Cowritten by two beloved and award-winning sci-fi writers, This Is How You Lose the Time War is an epic love story spanning time and space.
Max Gladstone is an instant pre-order author for me, but I NEED to get on the El-Mohtar train, too! This looks fantastic.

Love story and time travel – two elements that would normally turn me off and yet strangely I like the sound of this one very much.

ha ha … yeah, I can be the same though I find I have been having a much higher tolerance for romance, and actually look for it sometimes now
