Waiting on Wednesday is a memeΒ hosted byΒ Breaking the SpineΒ to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
Wow, I really want to read this book. Like now, today, yesterday. It seems to have all the makings of a book that I will love. Down on his luck mercenary with a war hammer, child and unpredictable, vengeful warrior against a thousands strong army? Excellent. Really can’t wait.
Expected Publication:September 2nd 2014 by Orbit
LEGENDS AREN’T BORN. THEY’RE MADE.Dug Sealskinner is a down-on-his-luck mercenary traveling south to join up with King Zadar’s army. But he keeps rescuing the wrong people.
First Spring, a child he finds scavenging on the battlefield, and then Lowa, one of Zadar’s most fearsome warriors, who has vowed revenge on the king for her sister’s execution.
Now Dug’s on the wrong side of the thousands-strong army he hoped to join Β– and worse, Zadar has bloodthirsty druid magic on his side. All Dug has is his war hammer, one small child, and one unpredictable, highly-trained warrior with a lust for revenge that’s going to get them all killed . . .
With a tagline of: “Legends aren’t born. They are forged.” I’m totes down! Thanks for the pick! (Adding to my TBR now!)

Well of course I want it. I branch out as often as anyone, but deep down I am an epic fantasy kind of guy, and this looks just like everything I want.

Oh I’m looking forward to this too! I think this might be only one of two books I’m seriously eyeing from Orbit in the next few months, the other one being The Falcon Throne.

I’m excited I am supposed to get a copy of The Falcon Throne from LibraryThing! My fingers are crossed I’ll find a way to get this one too. If not early, I’ll definitely get it after release.

Sweet I was able to snag a copy of this at BEA – you should totally email the publisher and request an ARC.

I actually did. It’s like the 2nd ARC request I have sent to a publisher. Fingers crossed they deem me worthy of a copy π

I was looking at this one, too! Orbit has been a little more miss than hit for me lately, so here’s hoping that this one is a winner. My hopes are high, since I’ve loved every fantasy novel I’ve read that includes adorable children. π

The most recent Orbit books I’ve read were Thief’s Magic, The Girl with All the Gifts and Crimson Campaign. Really enjoyed all three, so hoping this one is the same when I get it.
