Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s all about sharing our excitement for books coming out soon.
What?? A creepy IKEA catalog type of book telling a horror story? I can’t even imagine exactly how this works, but I am beyond intrigued and definitely MUST READ!
Horrostor by Grady Hendrix
Expected publication: September 23rd 2014 by Quirk Books
Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland, Ohio. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring wardrobes, shattered Brooka glassware, and vandalized Liripip sofa beds—clearly, someone or something is up to no good. To unravel the mystery, five young employees volunteer for a long dusk-till-dawn shift—and they encounter horrors that defy imagination. Along the way, author Grady Hendrix infuses sly social commentary on the nature of work in the new twenty-first century economy.
A traditional haunted house story in a contemporary setting (and full of current fears), Horrorstör comes conveniently packaged in the form of a retail catalog, complete with illustrations of ready-to-assemble furniture and other, more sinister accessories. We promise you’ve never seen anything quite like it!
OOH OOH! I’ve never heard of this one before! I love finding new reads! Thank you for introducing me to this cool book! *adds to TBR*

Oh my god I have to GET THIS BOOK!! I had heard about it a few months ago, and I’m happy to see it’s almost out. Plus, I shop at IKEA all the time so it looks particularly funny. Great pick!

I think it would be a hilarious one to keep on the coffee table and see people pick it up expecting IKEA. 🙂 I’m definitely anxious to check it out.

Well, this is a new one on my radar, that’s for sure! I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for it, since even though I don’t usually read much horror, the concept behind it is definitely interesting!

I’ve seen this floating around and it looks freaking hysterical! Ikea and I have a complex relationship…it can be a bit of a horror story in there sometimes! Is there anything more horrifically hilarious than “ready-to-assemble” furniture?

This sounds like a scary version of The Night in The Museum, just it happens in a furniture store. I do not read many horror novels but this one tempts me to find out what is happening…
