Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
I absolutely love The Girl with All the Gifts, so this book, while not related, is still an absolute must read. Plus, the description? It would have sold me even if my experience with author hadn’t.
Author:Β M. R. Carey
Expected publication: April 5, 2016
Publisher: Orbit
The highly anticipated new thriller from the acclaimed author of The Girl With All the Gifts.
Jess Moulson is convicted of a murder she can’t remember committing.Nothing is quite clear from the drug-fuelled night when a blaze set in her apartment killed the little boy upstairs. But when the media brands Jess a child killer, she starts to believe it herself.
Now she’s on her way to Fellside, the biggest, most formidable women’s prison in Europe, standing in the bleak Yorkshire moors.
But Jess won’t be alone in her prison cell. Lurking in the shadows is an unexpected visitor . . . the ghost of the ten-year-old boy she killed. He says he needs her help – and he won’t take no for an answer.
FELLSIDE is a powerful, thought-provoking and heart-wrenching new standalone novel by M. R. Carey.
Haha! I had this one planned for an upcoming WoW too…I wish the cover didn’t have that yellow circle with TGWATG on it, kinda ruins the effect π

I HATE the yellow circle. I mean, its nice to know its the same author, because that totally sells me on the book. But visually, I hate it. The cover is so subtle, that the yellow circle over powers it and your eyes are instantly drawn to just that.

What??? How could I not know about this?? Super excited, but I agree with Mogsy, the yellow circle bugs me. I get the whole marketing thing but come on!! A simple line of text would be fine. Great pick!

Yes, I included my rant about the yellow circle in response to Mogsy’s comment. And I am always so excited when I find a book you weren’t aware of because your WoWs often are completely new to me. π

The circle on the cover makes it look like a sequel. However, the synopsis sounds great so I look forward to eventually checking this one out. Thanks for sharing!

How excellent – I wasn’t aware of this one – I’m with Mogsy about the label on the cover – although I LOVE the sound of this one!
Thanks missus.

That is a great description. And based off of how good I heard The Girl With All The Gifts was, I would defiantly pick this one up.
