Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
The description is pretty short, but mercenaries? Yep, I am a sucker for mercenaries. What’s this? Someone is hunting them down?? Ha ha. I would imagine that there should be a good number of suspects. Plus magic and intrigue. Yep. I’m sold. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!

Once they were a band of mercenaries who shook the pillars of the world through cunning, alchemical brews, and cold steel. Whoever met their price won. Now, their glory days behind them, scattered to the wind, and their genius leader in hiding, they are being hunted down and eliminated one by one.
A lifetime of enemies has its own price.Adrian Selby brings us into an unforgettable new world filled with magic, mystery, intrigue, bloodshed and betrayal.
That short description really makes me want to know more! Maybe that’s a good strategy for publishers:-) Great pick!

Ahh betrayal and bloodshed! They always seem to go hand in hand, don’t they? Haha. This one looks interesting, I’m curious to hear what people think of it!

I am debating between audiobook and print for this one. Will probably decide based on what my piles for the two types look like closer to release (as in, which ever way I can get to it first is what I’ll pick)

Hi all, thank you for your interest. Believe me, I’m incredibly nervous about the launch and whether the book turns your anticipation into delight or frustration!! I’ve heard a sample of the guy who’s doing the audiobook and he’s great, asked loads of questions about characters, pronunciation etc. so he’s been incredibly engaged with it. Cheers for now, Adrian
Thanks! Glad to hear the audio is going well! I haven’t seen who is narrating yet, but am glad he is doing it justice.
