Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature all about sharing your good luck in book acquisitions! So here’s what came my way since my last post!
Another great several weeks for book additions!
Received for Review
Of Sand and Malice Made by Bradley Beaulieu – I read Twelve Kings of Sharakai for my Backlist Burndown book this month and loved it watch for my review on Friday)! So I was quick to jump on the chance to read this prequel novel. Many thanks to DAW for the review copy!
Facefaker’s Game by Chandler J. Birch – This book doesn’t release until November, but sounds like a blast and I’m eager to check it out. Many thanks to Simon & Schuster/ Simon451 for ARC for review.
The Empty Ones by Robert Brockway – This series sounds like a lot of fun, and I have the first one already even if I’ve not read it yet. So this surprise arrival from Tor is a good reminder to get on that! Many thanks to Tor!
Rise the Dark by Michael Koryta – This was another surprise arrival. It’s the second in a series, so I need to find out if the first is required reading, but does sound like it could be a fun change of pace when I’m in the mood for something different. My thank to Little Brown and Company!
Den of Wolves by Juliet Marillier (eARC) – Um, do I even need to explain how excited I am for this book! I absolutely loved the first two in this series and can’t wait to continue! Thanks to Roc books!
The Bloodsworn by Erin Lindsey (eARC)– Another series I can’t wait to read more of. In fact, I’ve already read over half of this one and am definitely not disappointed!! Many thanks to Ace Books!
Blood of the Earth by Faith Hunter (audiobook) – I have heard Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series recommended a fair amount, and figured this first book in a new spin off series would be a great chance to jump in. Many thanks to Audible for the review copy!
Ghost Talkers by Mary Robinette Kowal (audiobook) – This book sounds really intriguing (interviewing deceased soldiers immediately after their death as a way to gather intelligence during war time). Plus, I have heard Mary Robinette Kowal’s books recommended quite a bit. Again, many thanks to Audible!
Bite by K. S. Merbeth (audiobook) – This one has been on my radar since I first heard of it (and saw the cover). The premise just sounded like a book that would work great as an audiobook (and having listened to it, it definitely is!). Thanks to Hachette Audio for the review copy!
Giveaway Wins
Age of Myth by Michael J. Sullivan – This one snuck into my photo above, but was a giveaway win from Library Thing! Definitely looking forward to this one!
Oooh, tons of cool new books ! I’m hoping to get a copy of the Empty Ones in the mail soon:-)

I really need to get on those current series by Juliet Marillier and Bradley Beaulieu. The Erin Lindsey one looks interesting, too. Must. Get. The. First. Books. *lol*
I don’t remember what new books I’ve shared with you recently… But THE OBELISK GATE arrived today!! On a Sunday, which is weird, but I’m not going to complain. 😀

I haven’t listened to any of his books in audiobook before, but suspect they should work very well! 🙂

Wasn’t Bite awesome? I had a feeling you would like it 😀
And eeeek, how many discs is Age of Myth?

Age of Myths is a beast! 14 discs, so that will be fun! And I absolutely loved Bite (my review went up today). It was especially nice as I feel like most of the books I’ve read the last couple of months have fallen flat.

I love Michael Koryta but haven’t read any of his stuff in the past 2 years. I’m going to have to check out my library and see what I’ve missed.
