Friday Firsts is a new meme that will run every Friday here on Tenacious Reader. It will feature the first few sentences/paragraph of my current book and my first impressions as well. It’s meant to be a quick and easy way to share a bit about what I am reading, and I would love to hear others join in sharing their current reads as well.

The wine’s gone to my head, I realize, as I sway into the kitchen to get another bottle. I’m at that perfect stage of tipsy when I feel padded and warm, forgetful. Carla’s belting out her trademark laugh—that Wiccan cackle that’s hearty enough to scare ghosts into corners. And somewhere, softly, tentatively, under Carla’s vital bray, Steph is laughing too, a sound I haven’t heard for weeks. Since.

My First Impressions
This book is told through two POVs, husband and wife Mark and Steph. So far it is very easy to read, the type of book you quickly get lost in. I am really curious about their past as well as what is to come. It’s a horror book, so I am guessing what’s to come is nothing good for them! There was something traumatic that happened recently to the couple, and at times I almost felt like this was over stressed, but it is really too early for me to decide that for certain. And its definitely not something that is bothering me. Just curious and want to keep reading!
What are you reading right now? Did it start out strong? Feel free to share in the comments, and also feel free to link up!
Can’t wait to start this! Glad to hear it’s an easy read.

It’s definitely not for everyone. If you like creepy horror books, then its worth a try. If not then probably pass.

That “Since.” really does a good job of hooking you. I’m intrigued by that, and I’m not even reading the book!
