Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature all about sharing your good luck in book acquisitions! So here’s what came my way since my last post!
It’s been another couple of great weeks for book additions!
Received for Review
I had three surprise arrivals from Tor this time. The Family Plot by Cherie Priest was one I was planning on reading as an audiobook, but I have to confess, I absolutely love having print versions as well, so I was quite excited to get this one. I’m 75% done with it already and loving it. The Librarians and the Lost Lamp by Greg Cox is one I had not heard much about. Evidently its a book based on a TV series, so I am guessing it should be a fast paced/fun book. I may check it out after I catch up on the books I have requested. Unhonored is the follow up to Unwept, which, I did not quite love. I may pass on this one, but have to say the cover is quite cool. Many thanks to Tor for their generosity!!
The Bloodsworn by Erin Lindsey is the final book in The Bloodbound trilogy. I love this series, finished the book shortly after getting it. Many thanks to Ace for sending this my way!
The generous people Pyr also had some surprises for me this week! Judgement at Verdant Court is the third in a series. I read the first book, and enjoyed it, but have some catching up to do before I get to this one. The Apothecary’s Curse sounds interesting. I don’t always do well with mysteries or with steam punk, but when the mood hits, I may give this one a try. Many thanks to Pyr!
An Import of Intrigue is the second book in the Mardaine Constabulary series, which is being released in parallel with Marshall Ryan Maresca’s other Mardaine series. I really like the world/city the author has created, and look forward to returning. Many thanks to DAW!
I talked a bit about The Family Plot above. I was very excited to get an audiobook version of this for review, because I just feel horror in general lends itself well to that format. Many thanks to Audible Studios!
Tor.com was also generous, I received review copies for Cold Counsel by Chris Sharp and Passing Strange by Ellen Kluges. Look forward to checking them out. My thanks to Tor.com!
Purchases
I snapped up Nine Princes in Amber by Robert Zelazny when it was part of Audible’s $4.95 sale. It was already on my list to read, and it qualified for my r/fantasy bingo square for the decade I was born.
I also got my Kvothe/NotW litograph shirt from the Geeks Doing Good Worldbuilder’s fundraiser
Oooo, check out all those new books for review! I admit, I have not heard of any of them, but The Bloodsworn looks really good. I think a blogger friend reviewed that one recently (if I remember correctly). She liked it. 😀 I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Have a fabulous week. 🙂
Check out my STS post!

I really like the cover to Unhonored. A shame I had mixed feelings about the first book, because I’m still undecided on whether I am going to continue this series!
