Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let us share our excitement for books coming out soon.
So, Beyond Redemption (the first in this series) was a book that was not at all on my radar until after publication. While that can happen, it is very unusual for a book like this to go unnoticed by me. Usually its books that are not within my typical reading preferences. However thanks to some amazing reviews and recommendations (after publication), I decided to give it a try, and loved it. Sadly, I think I am not the only one who didn’t hear about it. Sales were low enough that the publisher decided to not pick up book 2. Which, for the quality of the Beyond Redemption, was just incredibly sad. I am so happy that Michael is publishing this! Yes, I am very much looking forward The Mirror’s Truth!

Where belief defines reality, delusions are both strength and curse: The deeper you sink into madness the more powerful you become. But that power comes with a price. Your darkest nightmares hunt you at night. The face in the mirror hates you and wants to be free. Your fears manifest and plot your destruction.

Bedeckt defined himself by the list of crimes he was unwilling to commit. It was such a short list. How could straying from it have gone so wrong?
Now Bedeckt must undo the damage caused by wandering from his precious list. The Geborene god seeks to remake the world with his obsessive need for cleanliness and perfection, but Bedeckt is going to bring him down. Nothing can stop him. Not even death.
The two friends he abandoned in the Afterdeath chase after Bedeckt, bent on revenge. Psychotic assassins hunt him. Something cold and evil follows, lurking in the clouds above, shredding reality with its delusions. Madness and sanity war, stretching and tearing the very fabric of existence.
The dead shall rise.
I commented on someone else’s blog that I was surprised this book wasn’t picked up by the publisher. I’ve heard so many great things about Beyond Redemption. I need to catch up!

Oh I see – I did see this on another blog and thought it had been self published which puzzled me – I didn’t realise that it hadn’t been picked up the publisher .

Great choice! And I’m so pleased he’s decided to self-publish this.

I’m always impressed by authors who choose to self-publish after their series gets dropped. Good on them! I hope this one is just as good as the first.
