Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature all about sharing your good luck in book acquisitions! So here’s what came my way since my last post!

It’s been another couple of great weeks for book additions!

Received for Review

Skullsworn by Brian Staveley – I felt like the Unhewn Throne trilogy got better with each book, and Pyrre was one of the secondary characters that I wanted to know more about. Thrilled to get this prequel story focused on her. Thanks to Tor Books!

The White Road by Sarah Lotz – When it comes to horror, Sarah Lotz kills it. Her previous two books, The Three and Day Four, I rated 5 stars. So excited to have a copy of her latest book. Many thanks to Mulholland Books for the review copy!

The Empire’s Ghost by Isabelle Steiger -This is easily one of my most anticipated debuts for 2017, a new epic fantasy series that sounds, well, epic! Many thanks to Thomas Dunne Books for the early copy!

Phantom Pains by Mishell Baker – Borderline was an amazing read! For those not familiar, the protagonist is a parapelegic due to a suicide attempt. I was afraid the book would be really dark, but its not. She doesn’t have it easy, but there’s sardonic humor to help keep everything in check. I am so looking forward to getting back to this series. And, lucky for me, fellow blogger Mogsy had an extra review copy and sent one my way! So, thanks to Mogsy at The Bibliosanctum!

Game of Shadows by Erika Lewis -This one sounds really exciting, so when I was pitched it for review, even though I’ve been trying to keep my requests light, I had to say yes! My thanks to Tor Books for the finished copy for review!

Assassin’s Fate by Robin Hobb – GAHH!!!!! I can’t believe I have my hands on this one. I am so excited to see how this trilogy finishes up. So many thanks to Harper Voyager!

Purchases

The Spirit Thief by Rachel Aaron – This one is going to serve both as my Sword & Sorcery square for r/fantasy bingo as well as my Backlist Burndown book for February (since I’ve already read my choice for January). I’ve heard it’s supposed to be a fun read, so looking forward to it.

  1. Oh my gosh Assassin’s Fate. that reminds me about this series- I haven’t read the new one yet. I read all the Fitz and Fool books up through this latest trilogy- I may need to tackle these soon.

    Skullsworn looks pretty awesome too.

  2. Skullsworn is waiting in my P.O. Box at the moment – hoping I can get across the river to pick it up this week. I had pretty much the same reaction on getting approved for Assassin’s Fate – I immediately started reading yesterday. 🙂
