Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature all about sharing your good luck in book acquisitions! So here’s what came my way since my last post!
It’s been another couple of great weeks for book additions!
Received for Review
The Suicide Motor Club by Christopher Buehlman – Buehlman has now secured a position on my “must read” list of authors. I have just finished this book, and it is so good. (Watch for my review on Speculative Herald on Wednesday). Many thanks to Berkley for sending me this finished copy!
Nebula Showcase 2016 The Year’s Best Science Fiction and Fantasy (edited by Mercedes Lackey) – An anthology of this years Nebula Award nominees. Should be great! Many thanks to Pyr this my way!
Hope and Red by Jon Skovron – I recently highlighted this one in a WoW post. Lone survivor set on vengeance, and an orphan adopted into the criminal underworld. This sounds like it could be spectacularly fun to read. Many thanks to Orbit for the review copy!
The Waking Fire by Ryan Anthony – I’ve really enjoyed the books I’ve read by Ryan Anthony, and with this being the start of a new series, I just have to give it a read. Many thanks to the good people at Ace!
Angry Robot was good to me this round as well! Sending me the following two eARCs
Accident of Stars by Foz Meadows – This is one I hadn’t heard of before, a portal fantasy, one that brings together several very different women. Definitely sounds intriguing!
Assassin Queen by Anna Kashina – I enjoyed the first book in the series, but have to catch up before I can read this final installment! But I am happy that as soon as I do, it will be there.
Thanks again to Angry Robot!
Giveaway Wins
Voodoo Killings by Kristi Charish (audiobook) – See! Twitter can be a productive use of time! See what I won on twitter?? 😀 I’ve seen some great reviews for this already, and have to admit, I’ve listened to the first hour or so already and am definitely enjoying it. Many thanks to Kristi Charish for the giveaway!
Purchases
The Fireman by Joe Hill – I read the eARC of this and absolutely loved it. So when I saw signed copies available, I splurged and got one. 🙂
Eek – I still have to read The Fireman!
The Christi Charish book is receiving lots of positive reviews so I look forward to seeing what you think of that one.
Anthony Ryan – I’m excited to see what his next book is like having enjoyed his first series.

Nice haul! The last two books I received were Renee Ahdieh’s The Rose and the Dagger (purchased and already read; it was OK) and Stephanie Burgis’s Masks and Shadows (won in a giveaway – yay!).

Just finished The Fireman and really enjoyed it! And sweet, an audiobook copy of Voodoo Killings! That one would be great in audio.
I got a copy of Hope and Red on NetGalley! It’s next on my TBR 🙂
